We were tenants of Chris McAvoy Letting Agency for 2 years. We lived in an old property and experienced extreme damp in our first winter, whereby three of our rooms became covered in mold. We asked, when viewing the property, whether it was susceptible to damp as there was a dehumidifier in the living room. The agent assured us that there was not a problem and the dehumidifier was there as they had recently painted the walls. We notified the agency of the damp problem within 9 months of our tenancy.Ultimately, the damp eventually got on to our clothes, the carpets and created a severe moth infestation. Despite this, they continually assured us that they would resolve the issue. We eventually had to terminate our tenancy after 14 months of inaction. Throughout our tenancy, we found their communication and professionalism poor.
Chris McAvoy and his team have been exceptional in the way they looked after me as a tenant. They were responsive, always friendly and extremely helpful. I never felt like burden when contacting them and they always went the extra mile to ensure that things ran smoothly.
