This is a lovely zoo which has stood the test of time. Unlike many zoos. The staff are very knowledgeable about their animals and always happy to share that knowledge with you. We visited on a cold day following a deluge of rain so many of the animals were sheltering but the staff were still there with a helping hand and a smile.
Only UK zoo with all 4 great apes. Nice monkey selection. Wouldn't use our own reusable cups in fish and chip eatery. Costa in main entrance does.
Love twycross, has its own personality, like a good friend. Strong focus in conservation of endangered species. The animal environments very natural and clean. Animals obviously well cared for. Flat and also wheelchair friendly. Very cold but enjoyable day and good value for money.
Really nice day out for the kids. My 6 year old loved it. Lots for her to see and learn about. Not a cheap day out but it will keep them busy all day. A few nice little parks dotted around and plenty of places for picnics. Wrap up warm on cold days as there is no cover
Visited this zoo last Tuesday with partner. The zoo itself is well presented and good selection of animals. What I would say is their is a lack of food eateries actually within the zoo itself only at entrance. However I believe in summer they open ice cream facilities throughout zoo. The map was easy to follow and it was a very enjoyable day out. Lots of activities to keep kids occupied and a soft play zone. I would go back and I recommend it as an enjoyable day out.
